Over My life, I have, along with My Wife, Children, we have Adopted several Recovery Dogs.
This is the Akita, that we brought into Our House, and was Part of Our Family.
A bit of information about Recovery Animals... When you adopt one of these, they are usually from a Previous Home, and
Habits can take time, such as breaking them to use the outside when they do No 1, and No 2, among other things that you need
to give them a Year, to Two Years to "Adjust to your ways" and also, You need to Adjust to having them in your Family.
Imagine yourself, coming from a shelter, just been forsaken, or given away, and lonely, although, the Shelter does a fine
job, but that cannot replace, nor will replace the setting into a Family by those that really learn to Love this Adopted Friend.
You need to understand that they are usually confused, and being in a totally different environment, it takes them, just
like Orphan Children, they take time, and Special love, and Care to place in them the trust, as, they may not trust you, or
anyone in this new family.
Don't confuse them with giving them orders, commands, and by that, I mean, too many commands at once, coming from all
of those in the family, they don't understand, and need to hear only one command at a time.
I'm talking about the basic commands that a family usually needs for the pet to understand.
Outside of important commands, all other talk, laughing, playing, they will adapt to that very easily, as time goes on.
SNOW, he ANOTHER VERY SMART, LOVABLE COMPANION, that we ad0pted, a Great Pyrenees.
Snow, among the Mani wich It would take a long list of different breeds that we have adopted.
Snow, I didn't realize how such a dog could bring joy to our household, and adapted very quickly to our family.
Like Barbie the Akita, snow and I were very great friends.
With Barbie, it was different as, Barbie and I walked for 10 years, but Barbie, being an Akita, she hated cars with a
passion, yet se loved women and small children.
She did not take to Adult men, and was always letting the men, with the exception of her master, she would be OK with
men if I was OK with them.
Anita's must be on a leash when out walking, as small animals jut didn't go very well with Anita's.
Anita's make great guard dogs in the family.
Anita's can actually know what you are thinking.
Snow, on the other hand, he being a work dog, he was protective, but small animals, he adapted very well.
Snow became close friends with our cats, where with Barbie, I couldn't have a cat around.
Please do not letcAkitas out to run free, that you must consider when adopting Anita's.
